Live painting turns a blank wall into something people watch happen in real time. Guests see the work come together, share it as it unfolds, and walk away with hours of organic social content for the brand. At the end, the painting stays a permanent piece that keeps working long after the event is over.
Pezer97 is a live mural painter and corporate event painter for hire in Los Angeles, painting live at brand activations, product launches, sponsor camps, conferences and corporate events across Southern California. Recent live painting includes Optima Batteries at King of the Hammers, the BonFire Ventures afterparty for the Upfront Summit and the Toastique Downtown Los Angeles opening. Projects start at $7,500.

Why live painting works for a brand
A live painting does three things at once. It draws people in during the event, because the work is unfinished and people come back to see how far it has moved. It generates organic content, because every stage of the process is something a guest can photograph and post. And it leaves the brand with a permanent piece, along with the photos and footage captured while it was being made.
That last part is the difference between live painting and most event entertainment. A DJ set ends. A photo booth prints. A painted wall or panel goes back to the office, the showroom or the next event, and the content it produced keeps circulating.
What it looks like at a real event
Optima Batteries at King of the Hammers. Optima, one of the main sponsors of the largest annual off-road event in the United States, commissioned a live mural inside its VIP camp over the opening weekend. The design drew on off-road racing culture, so it read as part of the event rather than as branding dropped into it, and the camp had a center of gravity guests kept returning to. See the Optima project.
BonFire Ventures, Upfront Summit afterparty. A rooftop afterparty in Los Angeles for a venture audience. The brief was a tribute to the city’s graffiti culture, painted live over the evening, with a second interactive wall where guests left their own marks. The artwork finished the night as a shared object rather than a backdrop. See the BonFire Ventures project.
Toastique, Downtown Los Angeles. The branding mural was finished before the grand opening, and Pezer97 returned during the influencer night to complete it live in front of guests, turning a finished asset into the moment everyone photographed. See the Toastique project.
Formats
Live painting adapts to the venue. The most common formats:
- Permanent wall. Painted live at an opening or launch and left in place. Best when the venue is the client’s own space.
- Freestanding panels or canvases. Painted on site, then moved to an office, a showroom or the next activation. The right choice for hired venues, trade shows and sponsor camps.
- Branded backdrops and stage panels. Built to be photographed, sized to the step-and-repeat or the stage.
- Interactive walls. A second surface where guests add their own marks alongside the artist, which works especially well for team events and afterparties.
- Timelapse and content capture. The process is the content. Many clients film the full painting for a reel; the timelapse on the Toastique project page is an example.
Working with brand teams
Most live painting is booked by an in-house brand or marketing team, and we are used to slotting into a run of show. We take a brief, return concept directions, lock the design with your creative lead, and handle the execution: materials, surface, setup, the painting itself and the reveal. The design can carry logos, campaign colors and copy in full, since event work on panels or interiors is not affected by the mural-versus-sign rules that apply to permanent exterior walls in the City of Los Angeles.
What we need from you is short: the venue and the surface, the event timeline, the brand guidelines and who signs off. If the venue has no suitable wall, a freestanding panel solves it. For campaign-led work beyond the event itself, see mural activations for brands.
Event logistics, in plain terms
Timing. A live piece is designed to be finished within the event window, whether that is a three-hour party or a full weekend. Longer windows allow more detail; short windows favor bold graphic work that reads from across the room at every stage.
Space and access. A wall or panel position with a few feet of working clearance in front, good light, and a spot guests can watch from without standing in the paint. The working area is kept clean and protected throughout.
Indoors or out. Both. Outdoors we plan for wind, sun and the surface; indoors we use low-odor products so the room stays comfortable for guests.
Afterward. Panels are handed over at the end of the event, and permanent walls are sealed where they need it. We recommend booking a photographer or videographer for the process, because the making of the piece is usually the most shared content of the night.
What live painting costs
Live painting is quoted per project like all of our work, with a minimum engagement of $7,500. The price depends on the size of the piece, the level of detail achievable in the event window, the surface and whether a panel needs building. Design development before the event is part of the project. Our 2026 pricing guide covers what drives cost across all mural work.

Live painting questions
What is live painting?
An artist paints a mural, panel or canvas in front of an audience during an event, so the work itself becomes part of the program. Guests watch it develop, photograph each stage, and the finished piece stays with the brand afterward.
How long does a live painting take?
It is designed to fit the event window: a few hours for a party or launch, a full weekend for a sponsor camp like King of the Hammers. The longer the window, the more detail the piece can carry.
Can the artwork include our logo and campaign message?
Yes, in full. Panels, canvases and interior walls are not subject to the mural-versus-sign rules that govern permanent exterior walls in the City of Los Angeles, so campaign branding can be as prominent as you like.
What if the venue has no wall we can paint?
We paint on freestanding panels or canvases instead. They are finished on site, photographed, and then moved to your office, showroom or next event.
What do you need from the venue?
A wall or panel position with working clearance in front, decent light, a place for guests to watch from, and power for lighting if the event runs into the evening. We handle materials, setup, protection of the area and cleanup.
Do we get to keep the artwork?
Yes. A permanent wall stays where it was painted; a panel or canvas is handed over at the end of the event. The photos and footage of the process are yours as well.
How far in advance should we book?
Design takes one to two weeks including revisions, so two to four weeks ahead of the event is comfortable. Shorter is sometimes possible, so ask.
Do you travel for events?
Yes. Los Angeles and Southern California regularly, including the King of the Hammers off-road event, and nationally for larger activations.
