COCA-COLA // Abilene, Texas – 2026
In a project curated by Made by Crisp, Pezer97 collaborated on The Frontier Spirit for Coca-Cola, a hand-painted mural in downtown Abilene, Texas, covering a wall that runs the full length of the building. It was made with Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Texas Monthly Studios to mark America 250, and painted alongside Made by Crisp and the Houston muralist Jake Messa.
Much of the scene is worked in brush, closer to a canvas at architectural scale than to a graphic applied to a building. Its subject is the city itself: the frontier history that runs through Abilene along the Chisholm Trail, and the frontier the city is heading into now.
Unveiled with a ribbon cutting
The finished wall was unveiled on July 2, 2026 at a community ribbon-cutting, put together with the Abilene Convention and Visitors Bureau, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages and Texas Monthly Studios. City officials, volunteers and residents gathered in front of the mural, speeches were made, the ribbon was cut, and commemorative Coca-Cola bottles were raised in front of the work. News crews were there to broadcast it. For a brand, that is the difference between installing an asset and creating an event: the mural opened as a piece of the town, not just a painted wall.

The building
The wall belongs to a former railroad warehouse in the heart of downtown Abilene, facing North Treadaway Street, now used by 83 Entertainment. It had been a blank industrial elevation in the middle of the city. It is now a landmark residents give directions by.
Where it ended up
The mural was selected for the August issue of Texas Monthly and added to the Coca-Cola Mural Project Map on the Texas Monthly website. It made the front page of the local newspaper, and several news stations ran segments on it. That is the part a brand rarely gets from a printed campaign: the wall kept being covered long after the day it was finished.
